2020 Webby Nominee Brief

Update: 5pm, Friday 1st May – We just had awesome fun as a team going through the entries. Thank you everyone who sent us their words and videos. We were all split across 3 or 4 standouts, but in the end, one entry blew us away. So, we’re very happy to announce that we can’t wait to get working with an agency close to Streamtime’s roots in New Zealand. EightyOne, we’ll speak soon!

This week, we got some great news – which has been pretty rare recently. We’ve made it into the top 5 (in the 🌏) for a Webby in the Web services and applications category.

The Webby’s are basically the Oscars of the Internet, so it’s kind of a big deal. It means so much to our team (past and present) here at Streamtime and it’s recognition of all the talent and hard work that’s gone into making the product we have today.

It also means we’ve joined the ranks of the Internet’s best and brightest. Past and current Webby Nominees include: Google, Nike, Mueller, She Wrote Podcast, The BBC, Spotify, Instagram, NASA & National Geographic.

To get to this point, is a huge achievement. To win, would be out of this world.

With everything that’s going on right now, we’ve decided to approach our nomination slightly differently. We’d love to win. But we need some help. We’d like to work with one of the Streamtime community to create and run the campaign to get us to number 1.

Firstly, please vote for us. And tell your friends and everyone you know to do the same.

Secondly, we’d like to work with (one of) you to help us win. The brief is below. There’s a budget. This isn’t a creative pitch. Just write 250 words telling us how you can help us to win and we’ll make our decision on who to work with based on that.

The brief.

Streamtime are up for a Webby. It’s not the first time, but every other time we’ve been beaten out by Internet giant, Squarespace. That’s ok, because Squarespace are pretty cool and with Never Not Creative and Mentally-Healthy we’re a customer of theirs – so all good.

But this year, they’re nowhere to be seen (in our category anyway). So, we’re in with a chance.

What do we need?

To win? Joking aside, we’re looking for an idea and execution to take us to the top of the podium. With everything that has happened recently, we’re lighter on time and resources and so we’re reaching out to our community of customers to help us by doing what you do best.

We’d like you to create and run the campaign for votes from start to finish. We can provide almost anything. Assets, social logins, time for ideas and brainstorming and quick decisions. Click your fingers we’ll be there.

Voting closes on Thursday May 7th (in the US). So this campaign will be fast and furious.

The goal is to get as many people voting for us as possible in an effort to beat out the competition. Webby’s have their own tips on running a campaign here.

What will you get?

Budget: $USD10,000

This budget is for one agency. It’s not contingent on us winning. It’s for the time / value that you provide. We’re not looking for anything dodgy or clickbaity, it’s not our style, and it’s not allowed. If we win, it needs to be genuine, authentic and a true reflection of Streamtime. That said, our other best idea was Andy offering to run round Sydney Opera House naked, live on Instagram, if we won. Pretty sure there are better ideas 🙏

How will we select who to work with?

This isn’t a creative pitch.

Just write in 250 words (or a 90 second video) why we should work with you, and what you’ll bring to the project. That’s it. We can only choose one of you, so we don’t want to take up too much time with a pitch process. Entries close at 3pm AEST, 6am BST on Friday 1st May. We’ll make the decision at 5pm AEST, 8am BST on Friday 1st May. Quick, we know… but voting closes on May 7th.

Feel free to include links in your submission, but no need to provide presentations.

We’re looking for:

  • Passion
  • A love of Streamtime
  • Past achievements using campaigns / social media
  • Understanding of the Webbys and / or driving action to online voting
  • How you’d approach our challenge

We’re not looking for:

  • The answer (that would’ve been quick – we do need you to be quick though)
  • Creative
  • Ideas that rely on paid advertising (the $10k budget is all we’ve been able to scrape together
  • Andy’s Instagram Live feed

That’s it. You’re welcome to ask questions in the comments below and we’ll try and answer best we can.

You can submit your 250 word entry or 90 sec vid here.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

Terms and conditions:
Streamtime reserves the right to not select an entry. Payment terms are 14 days. Payment is not contingent on successfully winning a Webby!
