FileMaker Pro – No Available Files

Issue:
In FileMaker Pro, when selecting File > Open Remote the ‘Open Remote File’ window correctly displays the server but the ‘Available Files’ window is blank. If there was a previous version of FileMaker installed on the particular machine, the below steps may resolve.

Cause:
A file named server.pem within the FileMaker Pro folder. This file contains a certificate that is linked to a previous version of FileMaker installed on the machine.

To resolve:
On Windows:
- On a machine that is currently connecting to your server correctly, go to “Program Files > FileMaker > FileMaker ” directory and copy the file named server.pem. Place this file in the exact directory of the machine currently unable to connect – replacing the file that is already there.

On Mac:
- On a machine that is currently connecting to your server correctly, go to “Applications > FileMaker > FileMaker .app > Contents > MacOS” directory and copy the file named server.pem. Place this file in the exact directory of the machine currently unable to connect – replacing the file that is already there.

Note: A *.app (application) package can be accessed by right/control clicking on it and choosing “Show Package Contents”.

If the issue persists, please contact support.
